Raw Materials Increase

People love the things I create, that’s hugely flattering, however, people also USE the things I create.  That’s an honour.  Truly.  The most common feedback I get is that the items people buy from me are being worked and used nightly and that’s the reason they are created.

Creating beautiful props isn’t easy, it takes time.  Manufacturing these highly sought after pieces has literally taught me patience.  I can’t possibly charge an hourly rate for making these, they wouldn’t be affordable.  I don’t charge for my time.  One things that has happened though is an increase of around 28% in the last 5 years in the raw materials.  It’s an amalgamation of a few things, Brexit, the weak pound and a buyout (and consequent amalgamation into 1 monopoly) of the wholesalers who I am supplied by.

I class you, my dear customer as a friend and because of that I have tried for (literally) years to refrain from any price increases, however I  do not have a choice now.  I’ve seen petrol rise around 30p a litre, milk go from 85p to £1.25 and Mars bars (for those interested, Google “The Mars Bar Standard”), I can’t think of a single living expense that hasn’t increased.  In view of this, there will be a slight price increase across the Pewter range, it’s unavoidable.  It won’t be the 28% that I have incurred , I will swallow some of that cost, however it is now unavoidable.

What does this mean for you, dear magician?  A few pence on the pound and you’ll still have a workers prop to last a lifetime.
